Motorcycle jackets | Bike jackets | Biker jackets
Choosing a motorcycle jacket is probably the most important gear decision you have to make. The huge choice of bike jackets on the market can be bewildering. There are the safety issues to consider - how abrasion resistant is the jacket material; are there reinforced areas; what level is the shoulder and elbow armour; is a back protector included or optional? Then you need to think about the waterproofing and venting properties of the jacket. Will you be riding in the summer or winter or both? These days a textile motorcycle jacket can be just as effective as leather in terms of protection. But leather has no thermal qualities, and is very poor when it comes to keeping the rider dry, as it simply absorbs moisture. Staying safe on a bike is helped when you ride comfortably, and in most circumstances, hot or cold, wet or dry, you'll be more comfortable in a textile jacket. Textile jackets also tend to come equipped with a whole host of technical features that often don't make their way onto leather motorcycle jackets. Choose leather if your priority is looking good, or if you’re riding on the track. Choose textile for commuting and touring.
Here at Motolegends we only stock the motorcycle jackets that we believe are up to the job. We stock what we consider to be the very best brands in the business - so Rukka jackets, Klim jackets, Belstaff jackets to name just the top few. Klim Kodiak 2 jacket in navy blue
Decided after my Rukka Jacket from 2017 has seen better days to invest in a Winter New Jacket. Fitting at Motolegends is exemplary and having tried other Jackets The Kodiak2 was the best fitting and most comfortable. Wore it to the Ride To The Wall 041025 and fully tested its Waterproofing! Thanks to all at Motolegends
Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 Plasma airbag vest
I have had both the Klim A1 and the Alpinestars Tech Air 5, migrating to the Alpinestars because it offered more coverage in the event of a deployment, however, I felt it was more cumbersome than the Klim and the magnetic fastener was just a pain as is the angle of the charge port. With the plasma 5, I think they have taken the best of both of Klim and Alpinestars and have created a lighter, less bulky and dare I say, fashionable vest, that now has the coverage of rhe old and the style of the Klim. It is also subscription-free, so whilst it is more expensive than the Klim, you only pay once and not £12.99 a month on the inmotion rental scheme. Thankfully I cannot give a review of its function but fingers crossed if that day comes, it will do its thing.
Klim Marrakesh jacket in petrol blue
The jacket is excellent, its really comfortable and does exactly what Chris describes in the videos. Worn as a part of the layer system its perfect for touring.
