Shoei Glamster 06 helmets

The Shoei Glamster 06 distils classic racer cool into a thoroughly modern, ECE 22‑06‑certified shell. Introduced in early 2023 as the second generation of Shoei’s retro line, it retains the clean, smooth curves that recall the helmets of Sheene and Schwantz while adding a lighter construction and an impressively wide visor aperture. Inside, interchangeable head‑ and cheek‑liners let you tailor the fit. 
 
Although it forgoes the drop‑down sun visor found in the Neotec 3, the Glamster 06 shares the same advanced ventilation and impact‑absorption technologies used across Shoei’s latest range. Who is the Shoei Glamster for?

The Glamster will suit anyone on a retro or modern retro bike. We find it particularly appeals to ladies and to new riders as it is so light and easy to wear and yet offers great visibility.

Is the Shoei Glamster discontinued

The Shoei Glamster 06 was launched in 2023 and replaces the original Shoei Glamster. It is now ECE 22-06 certified.

Is the Shoei Glamster 06 quiet

The Shoei Glamster is not going to be as quiet as something like a Shoei Neotec 3 or even a Shoei NXR 2. It has a wider neck opening because of it's retro looks and therefore will allow more wind noise in to the helmet.

How long will the Shoei Glamster last?

The Glamster, like all Shoei helmets, has a five year warranty. 

What other helmets are suitable for a retro bike?

We would probably recommend the Arai Concept-XE as an alterative to the Shoei Glamster.

David James: Ideal Retro Helmet

I had been looking for some time to buy a quality retro helmet to use with a couple of my classic bikes. As I normally ride using an Arai helmet the obvious choice was their Arai Rapide Concept-XE but after trying one on I did not find it very comfortable at all. The next choice was the Shoei Glamster but I had difficulty finding anywhere near to where I live to try one in order to get the correct size. Eventually managed try one on in Sheffield but they didnt have the colour I wanted. One call to Motolegends and they checked their stock and the Shoei distributors and had the helmet to me within 2 working days. Having used the helmet several times now I am delighted with the fit, build quality and overall comfort level. It is much lighter and the shell size is smaller for a given size than the Arai equivalent. If I have one criticism it would be that the visor does not have as many indent positions as my usual Arai so it is not quite as flexible when riding with the visor partially open. As both the bikes I ride have quite extreme riding positions I find the lighter weight of the Shoei does not put as much strain on my neck muscles when in a crouched cafe racer position with clip ons. It accommodates my glasses easily and as I always wear earplugs the noise level is more than acceptable. I am seriously considering purchasing another colour way to use on one of my other bikes I like it so much. The service from Motolegends was, as usual, exemplary. I only wish I lived nearer.

What can you say about cheek pads really, theyre not the most exciting product in the world. They are good quality though, take seconds to swap out and add that little bit of extra snugness for a decent helmet fit.

The Glamster is very light, very comfortable and feels like a high quality item. I feel my head is oval shaped, but this fitted perfectly around the crown. The styling is understated, and the absence of gaudy graphics is welcome. Fitting wise, I chose the size that matched my head circumference after careful measurement ie, it appears they fit true to size Im returning to bikes, and am so impressed with the new tech that has clearly gone into this. 1010
