Motorcycle Trousers

In the event of an accident it is frequently the lower half of the body that come into contact with the ground, and usually for the longest time, so the level of protection offered by a trouser is of paramount importance. By contrast, the trouser takes less impact from the wind and rain than does the jacket, so features like thermal liners may not be quite so vital. Leather is naturally abrasion resistant, so leather motorcycle trousers can give you a significant level of protection if you end up sliding down the road. But leather is not good in the rain and has few thermal properties, so leather trousers are not so good in the winter. A good textile motorcycle trouser won’t absorb the rain and, of course, most trousers will have a thermal liner for greater warmth and comfort. All proper motorcycle trousers will come with armour in the knees and hips and, dependent on your riding, you may look for features like anti-abrasion backings, air-vents, stretch panels for comfort, and reflective areas for better visibility. Wendy: Comfortable Summer Riding in the Heat

I picked up the Klim Marrakesh trousers in Asphalt mainly because I wanted something lighter than black for summer riding. I ended up testing them properly on a long weekend in Wales, which just so happened to land during one of the hottest UK weekends on record around 32C. Not exactly gentle conditions! They werent quite as airy as I was expecting, but honestly I was never uncomfortable. The fabric has loads of stretch, so they just move with you rather than clinging on like jeans or some other riding trousers can when its hot. I also really appreciated how easy they were to get on and off, even after a long, sweaty day in the saddle. I ride a Triumph Tiger, so I get a fair bit of hot air blasting onto my upper legs from the engine, and I was pleasantly surprised that the trousers handled that really well. It never felt like an issue. Sizing-wise, Id definitely say consider going down a size. Im a UK womens size 16 and originally went for a mens 34, but they were way too roomy. The 32 fits much better, which just shows how generous Klims sizing is. For reference, I wear a womens medium in the Marrakesh jacket. Overall, Im really happy with them. Theyre super comfortable, really flexible, and just easy to live with on hot rides. They might not be the absolute breeziest trousers out there, but the comfort and movement more than make up for it.

I bought these for a 23 day European road trip , needless to say its been hot , very hot. But these pants an I also have the jacket have been a life saver. Cant recommend the Marrakesh gear highly enough, or the service from the team.
