Warm & Safe Heated Gear

You may never have heard of ‘Warm and Safe’, but they are the oldest and most technically sophisticated maker of heated clothing. Most other makers merely copy the technology developed by Warm and Safe, although for the most part, they are normally two or three generations behind the American company. Warm and Safe Heated Clothing use ultra-fine carbon filaments, their fourth generation jacket provides all-over heat that extends right up to the collar. In contrast to its competitors, Warm and Safe heated gear are incredibly light and have thin inners that can usually be worn under any leather or textile jacket without moving up a size. So for your next motorcycle heated clothing or heated base layers, be sure to check out their range, especially the Warm and Safe Heated Jacket.

Warm & Safe 12v heated base layer shirt in black
Was a little concerned at first that all the wiring would make this heated base layer rather uncomfortable, but that hasnt been the case at all and once on feels just like any other thick base layer. The relatively high neck zips up quite snugly without feeling too constrictive, even on my thick neck! Warms up really quickly, with easy control over the amount of heat via the non-fiddly controller that can be very easily attached to the bars with the Velcro pad provided. First use was on a full days ride through North Wales with temps ranging from 4 - 7 degrees. It was great to be toasty warm all day without the bulk of multiple layers. Highly recommended.
Warm & Safe ladies heated jacket liner in black
Jacket fits nicely under a bike jacket, slides around easily and is very comfortable. Compared to other jackets I have tried you hardly notice you are wearing it. The heat output is superb and to be honest unless out in minus temperatures doesnt need more than half a turn on the controller. I was recently out for a four hour ride with temperature hovering around 3 to 4 degrees C and never went above half way on the heat output. I also have my Keis gloves connected to the jacket outputs in the sleeves and this works fine. The fit of the jacket is OK, fine around the upper body but a bit snug around the mid section. This is not much of an issue as the zipper is two way so you can put some ease in this area. For reference I am 6 ft tall 14 st 10 lbs 94 Kg with a 44 inch chest and 38 inch waist. Apart from a little bit of a niggle about the waist area cant fault the jacket and think worthy of five stars
Warm & Safe Dual Remote Control
To have a remote dual control easily accessible that varies the heat of the jacket and gloves independently is a godsend on the go when compared with button-pressing or phone-app-faffing Ive had to use before. I have the controller mounted on my clutch fluid cylinder which works well. The only suggestion I would make is to scribe the index markers onto the face of the dials where theyd be more visible as an easy reference to set it to your usual temp. They are currently on the sides of the dials which makes them disappear from view in a quarter of a turn.
