Motorcycle Jackets

Choosing a motorcycle jacket is probably the most important gear decision you have to make. The huge choice of bike jackets on the market can be bewildering. There are the safety issues to consider - how abrasion resistant is the jacket material; are there reinforced areas; what level is the shoulder and elbow armour; is a back protector included or optional? Then you need to think about the waterproofing and venting properties of the jacket. Will you be riding in the summer or winter or both? These days a textile motorcycle jacket can be just as effective as leather in terms of protection. But leather has no thermal qualities, and is very poor when it comes to keeping the rider dry, as it simply absorbs moisture. Staying safe on a bike is helped when you ride comfortably, and in most circumstances, hot or cold, wet or dry, you'll be more comfortable in a textile jacket. Textile jackets  also tend to come equipped with a whole host of technical features that often don't make their way onto leather motorcycle jackets. Choose leather if your priority is looking good, or if you’re riding on the track. Choose textile for commuting and touring.

Recently took advantage of a Sunday sale to buy another one of these jackets. As usual the service was 5 star. I have ridden 2 summers in the Brema Vase jacket and its my favourite jacket. I think its quite an unusual jacket because of how its constructed. Its highly breathable, stretchy and extremely flexible. Great in hot weather. Without armour you can roll this jacket up and stuff it in a rucksack ! I dont know of any other AA level Jacket you can do this with. I wear this jacket over my Knox armoured shirt so I cannot comment on how the jacket fits with armour in it. But without armour the jacket is perfect as an over jacket because of its flexibility. It fits perfectly. It works really well in a layer system. The jacket is stylish and still looks good after extensive use. Its of cause not waterproof but I just add a Scott Held waterproof over the top. As an added bonus the jacket works great as a casual jacket off the bike. A good destination jacket. As far as sizing Im 6 ft 42 in chest and normal wear LXL but needed to go up one size to a 2XL. Hope this review helps but Im sure any questions Chris and his team will help.
