Motorcycle Jackets

Choosing a motorcycle jacket is probably the most important gear decision you have to make. The huge choice of bike jackets on the market can be bewildering. There are the safety issues to consider - how abrasion resistant is the jacket material; are there reinforced areas; what level is the shoulder and elbow armour; is a back protector included or optional? Then you need to think about the waterproofing and venting properties of the jacket. Will you be riding in the summer or winter or both? These days a textile motorcycle jacket can be just as effective as leather in terms of protection. But leather has no thermal qualities, and is very poor when it comes to keeping the rider dry, as it simply absorbs moisture. Staying safe on a bike is helped when you ride comfortably, and in most circumstances, hot or cold, wet or dry, you'll be more comfortable in a textile jacket. Textile jackets  also tend to come equipped with a whole host of technical features that often don't make their way onto leather motorcycle jackets. Choose leather if your priority is looking good, or if you’re riding on the track. Choose textile for commuting and touring.

Verified customer reviews for Motorcycle Jackets

Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 Plasma airbag vest

Graham: Sizing

Great item, lightweight and unrestricted but choosing the right size was difficult. According to the Alpinestars chart I was a 4XL but reviews on line suggested sizing down so to be sure I ordered a 3 xl and a 4xl. I am a big lad, 6ft 2inchs,112kgs, big shoulders, large frame and a beer belly. Both arrived and the 4XL was baggy, the back protector rode up to the base of my neck and it didnt feel right. The 3xl is a snug fit, which is how its supposed to be, stretch panels under arms and around gut allow plenty of movement, back protector is comfortable and stays in place.. I sent the 4 xl back , having tried it on once and had a full refund within a week.. airbag is very comfortable, although hot in this current weather which is unavoidable.I wear it with the Alpinestars Halo vented jacket which has removable outer sleeves leaving elbow and shoulder armour in place.. I have worn it for about 1500 miles in the past 3 weeks and I am getting confident in it.. at first I was unsure if it would go off by accident, getting on off, refuelling etc but has got to the point I ha ve forgotten I am wearing it. Great bit of modern safety kit ..I ordered spare canister just in case. Great service from motolegends as always.. my experience suggest size down from the alpinestars chart

Belstaff Tamar jacket in black

Kodge: Ventilated as

So happy with this Jacket, lightweight and extremely comfortable. Incredible ventilation, and understated in black. Watch out for velcro glove closure, it will chafe on the fabric at sleeves

Klim Marrakesh jacket in teak brown

Stuart Wellman: Comfortable AA Jacket

Brilliant jacket, fits well, beautify made, flows loads of air and really light with diablo armour. I like the layering approach so this with wind water proof plus insulation as needed will see me through most of the year.
