Belstaff Crosby jacket in black
I had a Trailmaster back in the 70s when they were cheap, tough and waterproof. They were also smelly, cold in winter and too hot in summer, but I loved mine. When I returned to motorcycles in 98 I didnt even consider one, particularly because of the high price - Id actually chucked out two pairs of jackets and trousers. Weirdly the prices of these jackets now seem approximately reasonable. I realised I missed my old Belstaff, even compared to the newer jackets Ive owned. So I bought a Crosby. Its pretty much exactly as I remember Belstaffs, stiff to begin with, but not as smelly and a bit warmer thanks to the drop liner. It hasnt surprised me in any way, its just like an old, slightly grubby friend. Whats not to like ?
Belstaff Calder jacket in olive
I bought this when it released and fitted the recommended back protector to it A day later I rode 20+ miles in hammering October rain and stayed dry, warm and comfortable throughout. Comfortable, true to size and looks great. The fact it comes with diablo armour too is the icing on the cake as Ive spent a ton upgrading all my other clothing to it! Other manufacturers could learn from this - cant recommend it highly enough. Its not cheap but it feels great value
Klim Marrakesh jacket in teak brown
I have held back my review until returning from a bike tour of the mountain roads in Gran Canaria. Temperatures were generally in the high twenties and given the narrow roads and endless twisties, I rarely got up to any decent speed. In short, the Klim Marrakesh was superb. Im a big lad, 185cms tall, 130kgs, 50 chest. I bought a 3xl and to be honest its a bit too big. However, when using it with a Klim Zephyr, andor Klim Maverick and in aiding air flow, for me its probably better this way. The build quality is great and as has been said it is non-bike smart enough to wear away from your bike. As Chris advises, I switched to the D30 Diablo armour with a Rheon back protector and would recommend any other buyers to do the same. In sum, great jacket deserving of the hype and the usual fabulous service from Motolegends.
