Sena Intercoms

Sena motorcycle intercoms let you talk to a pillion or other riders, hear satnav directions, take phone calls and listen to music. The range includes Bluetooth and Mesh intercoms, as well as dedicated systems for particular helmets. For us, this is where the choice gets interesting, because how neatly the comms fit your helmet can matter just as much as the features on the specification sheet.

For compatible Shoei helmets, the Sena SRL-03 is designed to integrate into the Neotec 3, GT-Air 3 and J-Cruise 3. Selected Schuberth helmets have their own Sena option in the Schuberth SC2 and the SC2 standard. There are also Sena-developed Bluetooth and Mesh systems for compatible Shark helmets. These are model-specific arrangements, so always check the exact helmet rather than assuming that one system fits the whole brand.

If you want an externally mounted unit, the Sena Vortex offers a straightforward Bluetooth option, while the Sena 60X adds Mesh capability and a broader range of features. The question is, how much of that capability do you need? Listening to directions and chatting to a pillion is a different job from keeping a group of riders in conversation.

For group riding, establish what your friends are using before buying. Bluetooth and Mesh are different ways of connecting, and compatibility needs checking at model level. Buying the most expensive unit does not remove that consideration.
