Flip-up Motorcycle Helmets
Flip-up helmets divide opinion. Some riders love them. Some think they’re for police officers and a certain kind of BMW rider. But, frankly, that view is outdated. At Motolegends, we’re big believers in flip lids - they offer a blend of practicality, comfort and performance that’s hard to beat.
First, a well-designed flip-front helmet is often quieter than a full-face. That’s because it can be slipped over the head from behind, allowing a snugger neck roll that seals better against noise. When closed, a flip-up helmet is every bit as safe and aerodynamic as a full-face. But when you’re in town, stuck at the lights or simply want some air, you can pop it open and breathe. Need to ask directions? No need to take your helmet off.
Flip-lids are also preferred by emergency services. In the event of an accident, they give medics quicker access to your airways - without needing to fully remove your helmet.
Our favourites? The Shoei Neotec 3 is hard to beat - quiet, refined and incredibly well made. The Schuberth C5 is a worthy challenger, especially with its integrated Mesh comms and updated safety shell. Both are ECE 22-06 certified, offer custom fit options, and can be tailored to your head at our Guildford store.

Shoei Neotec 3 Satori TC5 helmet in black / white
Collected on Tuesday and had the PFS fitting Great service and great helmet.
Shoei Neotec 3 Fragments TC2 helmet in blue
This is the only helmet Ive found that fits correctly. Bought as a replacement for a helmet damaged when I was knocked off the bike. Lovely helmets, visor seals nicely, if a bit fiddly to open. Ventilation is excellent on warm days. Must go down to the shop and get the fit checked using Shoeis measuring system, though I dont anticipate any changes. Would I buy another? This is the second one!
Schuberth C5 / E2 / Concept neck pads
Guys, many thanks for the video about the schuberth C5 fit. I was getting huge headaches after 50 minutes in the helmet, despite a seeming really good fit. You enabled me to purchase just the thinner neck pad, and things are significantly improved. Looks like I can live with the helmet after all. Though Im not local to you, I reckon Ill be making the trip next time I need new gear. Great job.
