Roof Boxxer Carbon UNI helmet in matt black (BOX009)
Product InformationThe Roof Boxer helmet was first designed 20 years ago but now Roof has decided to create the ultimate incarnation of its classic design. Thus was born the brand new Roof Boxxer Carbon helmet.
The idea behind the helmet is, of course, unchanged from the original Boxer. The chin visor can be rotated 180º taking it totally round to the back of the shell, leaving the rider with what is a very useable open-face helmet; albeit one with a drop down visor for protection. Of course, it is both P and J rated, meaning that it can legally be worn in either configuration.
The new Roof Boxxer Carbon helmet has a lighter carbon composite shell that brings the helmet in at a full 100 grammes less than the standard model.
The venting, always done cleverly on a Boxer, is now even better and allows air to flow through the helmet and out of the exhaust vents more cleanly than before.
But, in our view, the most interesting development has been in the area of the chin-bar locking mechanism. Simply put, it’s way better, more solid, more reliable and smoother.
It just works. With the new helmet, you also lose the prominent ’bunny ears’ that were present when the helmet was ridden in the open position. Some people thought they were fun; others didn’t like them.
For us, we see nothing but improvement. We really rate the new Boxxer. We love the graphics. We think it looks better and functions better than the standard Boxer. Quiet is not really the Boxxer’s thing, but the improved lining also makes the new Boxxer a little quieter than other models.
This is the ultimate Roof. If you’ve always fancied one, now’s the time to go for it.
